You guys…. it’s HOLIDAY TIME. The time of food and laughter and joy and Mariah Carey. The time of seasonal dog costumes and spiked beverages. The time of everything that is good and right in the world.

Okay, so it’s only been less than two weeks since Halloween, but I’m not sure how long you expect me to wait to start the celebration, here. I’m being totally reasonable.

I mean, it’s not like my entire Pandora is already devoted to Christmas stations… or like I’ve already watched Miracle On 34th Street AND Love Actually… or like I made Christmas cocktails a week before Halloween and waited an appropriate amount of time to post them so people don’t think I’m insane.

That would be ridiculous.

….

Yeah.

Don’t get me wrong, here. I’m not trying to skip past Thanksgiving. In fact, Thanksgiving is my actual favorite holiday.

I mean, come on… it’s just like Christmas, except you replace the pressure of gift giving with more food. Is this even a competition?

Nevertheless, I can’t deny that part of Thanksgiving’s allure is that it also marks the start of Christmas season. December 25th has always felt a little melancholy to me, because I know that the trees and lights are about to come down, and I’m expected to turn “All I Want For Christmas” off the repeat setting. But on Thanksgiving, you have a world of Christmas ahead of you. A world of lights synchronized to music, animatronic reindeer, company parties, and the world’s cutest cocktails.

I MEAN REALLY. These little goobers are cups of CHEER, and you were put on this earth to spread that amongst the borderline alcoholics of your book club, PTA, and family in law.

Unless you’re like me, in which case you were put on this earth to drink it alone on your couch while your dogs stare at you inquisitively.

Whatever. I regret nothing.

Moral of the story: if you want to make friends and/or get drunk on something delicious… this is your chance. Take it… for the sake of Christmas.
